SCC Library Databases - Zillions of Articles, and More

It seems like just a few years ago that librarians around the country were proudly setting up their first periodical databases on CD-ROM.  And it was exciting, even exhilarating to speed through the computer index and find article citations in a fraction of the time it took to use the big, green Reader's Guide volumes.  (Which we still have, by the way, in case you ever get nostalgic.)

Well, we've come a long way.  The SCC library's online database collection has grown to thirty, and these databases cover nearly every topic you'll find in print periodicals, from Academic Freedom to Zaire.  The database collection also includes several online reference books containing treatises and chapters that go far beyond periodical articles.  The SCC databases are available to you and your students from any Internet-connected computer 24 hours a day by using an Access Card or library card and a personal identification number (PIN).  SCC faculty and staff can create a PIN in LOIS.  Click View Your Record and follow the instructions.  (Faculty and staff do not have default PINs.)
