It's a student identification card, a bus and light rail pass, a copy card, and a library card all in one - it's the Access Card! Most students know by now about the super powers of their Access Card, but there is one detail, sometimes overlooked: The Access Card isn't automatically a library card. Students need to bring the card to the first or second floor library circulation desk and have it activated. Once activated, the card allows students to borrow books, access databases, renew books from off campus, and pull up eReserves.
The access card is also a print card that allows students to print from computers in campus labs and the library by adding money to their cards at machines in the Learning Resource Center.
How can faculty and staff get an Access Card? Well, you could take a class. Otherwise, hang in there - employee cards are in the works...
Until the new faculty and staff access cards are available, you can continue to use your blue library card for library services. If you don't have a library card, come to the library to get one.
