This tutorial will help you:
The tutorial should take you about 1 hour to complete, not including the final quiz.
If you are a professor, please read the Info for Faculty page.
If you have been assigned this tutorial by a professor, you can get credit for it by taking a quiz. There are two possible ways to do this:
1. Online. If your professor has a Desire2Learn course site, you might be taking the quiz there. See your professor for details.
2. In person at the library. When you finish the tutorial, you will have an opportunity to print out a copy of the quiz. You can then fill out the quiz and submit it to a librarian at the reference desk on the second floor of the Learning Resource Center when the library is open. If you pass the quiz, the librarian will give you a signed proof of completion slip that you may bring to your professor.
Please read each page. Try clicking on any images shown on the page for a larger view and more information.
When you finish a page, please use the arrow located at the bottom right-hand corner of the page to continue.
The tutorial also has a few review quizzes and video presentations; when these are done, click "Next" or "Continue" to move on.
The tutorial includes two brief (less than three minutes long) video presentations and a few review quizzes. To access these you will need to have Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. If you can see a picture of a cat sitting on a radio below this paragraph, your computer has Flash Player.
If no picture appears, you will need to install Flash Player.
The video presentations have sound, which you will need speakers or headphones to hear. If you cannot hear the sound, you will be able to view versions of the videos with text captions instead.
If you encounter problems using the tutorial, please use the feedback form. You will find a link to this form at the bottom of every page.
Before reading more, please take a brief quiz to test yourself on what you already know and discover a few things you might be able to get out of this tutorial.
