About this site

This site was launched in March 2012 as a way to make the answers to frequently asked questions more easily findable online. It is built using the open source Question2Answer platform.

Terms of Use

This site is intended to be used by students and employees of Sacramento City College. Activity on the site by SCC-affiliated users is bound by various codes and regulations of SCC and Los Rios Community College District. These include the Student Standard of Conduct and various faculty and staff standards. Non-SCC users will be subject to the same standards. Please be nice and reasonable. Any abusive or otherwise uncivil behavior will not be tolerated. Posts that advertise commercial services will be deleted.

Like all websites, this one automatically logs information such as your IP address and browser configuration. If you ask a question anonymously, site administrators (but not ordinary users) will be able to see the IP address that it was posted from.

This site uses Google Analytics in order to track usage. This means that certain information about your activity on the site is sent to Google. We have implemented IP masking to limit your exposure. Note that if you object to analytics programs, most current browsers allow you to opt out of some tracking.

If you ask a question, you may enter a name. If you do, this name will be shown publicly on the site. You may also leave an email address in order to be notified when an answer is posted. This email address is not viewable by users of the site, but it can be viewed by the site administrator.

Information that is viewable to site administrators but hidden from the public, such as IP addresses and email addresses, will not be shared with any third party, unless doing so is necessary to comply with the law.

Questions that you post on this site are publicly viewable and can be found using search engines. If you wish to ask questions privately, this is not the place to do that. To ask questions privately, please use the Library Help page or find a librarian in person.
