Worldcat is a product used by many libraries (including the UC system, which calls it "Melvyl") to list their physical and online collections (books, articles and so on). We don't have a contract with Worldcat, so our holdings don't appear there. OneSearch, which is built on one of Worldcat's competitors, EBSCO Discovery Service, is a similar idea, although it doesn't link out to other libraries like Worldcat does.

But if you just want to search, Worldcat is free. Go to www.worldcat.org and use it to discover items held by a large number of libraries. You can even create a free account there to save certain information. But as an SCC student you can't use it to search SCC's books or online articles, and online content held by other libraries is not available to us. Although if there's something you need that we don't have, you can always try interlibrary loan.
