Student Learning Outcomes

Adopted August 7, 2007

Upon completing intervention services at the Transfer Center, students will know and be able to do the following:

  • 1. Experience a greater sense of confidence, self-discipline, and determination for engaging in the transfer process.
  • 2. Build in their capacity for engaging in personal, academic, and career development.
  • 3. Become knowledgeable about the transfer process and able to independently use transfer research resources as tools for gaining admission to the colleges/universities.

Measuring Transfer Center's SLOs (July 24, 2009)
The Transfer Center focused on measuring student learning in academic planning (SLO #2) during 2008-09. 5 content areas of understanding General Education and Major were examined. Results showed statistically significant differences in student understanding in all 5 content areas from before and after counseling sessions. Given these results, that academic planning interventions were proving to be effective, these methods will continue to be administered.

During 2009-10 Transfer Center will continue gathering data on this SLO, as well as begin assessing SLO #1, self-efficacy in engaging in the transfer process.
