UC Transferable Course Guidelines
University of California
- Office of the President
July 2003
| Physical Education Courses |
Physical Education Activity (PE,
HR, APE, etc.) courses previously marked with an asterisk ("*"), are no
longer included in the TCA's. In their place a note is posted describing UC credit
granting policy for activity courses. On the ASSIST web site, the note is posted
under the P.E. department and on the TCA paper copy the note appears on the first
page of the TCA. The note reads: |
Physical Education Activity Courses
UC grants a maximum of our semester units of credit for appropriate Physical Education
Activity courses. These courses are not listed on the Transferable Course Agreement.
P.E. Activity course transferability is granted based on any physical movement identifiable
in the course title or content.
Departments that include only P.E. Activity courses will not appear in the department
selection list. Appropriate P.E. Activity courses are transferable, even if the department
is not in this list. Vocational activity courses are not transferable. (See below
for an example list of approved and non approved areas for P.E. Activity)
Theory courses or courses that do not fit either the Theory or Activity category
are not included in the four semester credit limit prescribed for P.E. Activity courses
and continue to be listed on the TCA if deemed transferable.
