| 1. | RACE AND ETHNICITY REQUIREMENT
(CSUS graduation requirement) As of August 21, 1998, CSUS requires 3 units to meet their Race and Ethnicity requirement. Only ENGLT 334 (effective Spring 2002) SOC 321, and SOCSC 300 (effective Summer 2005) has been approved to meet this requirement. SOC 321 can also be used to satisfy a General Education Breadth requirement in Area D-2. This is not an admissions requirement. |
| 2. |
FOREIGN LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
(CSUS graduation requirement)
|
| 3. | ENGLISH COMPOSITION (CSUS
graduation requirement) For students whose catalog is Fall 1992 or later, CSUS has added an additional English composition course to the graduation requirement. Sacramento City College's English [ENGWR 301] or [ENGWR 302] will be accepted to meet this requirement. If either English [ENGWR 301] or [ENGWR 302] is used to satisfy the General Education Breadth requirement for Area A-3 or C-2, the course can also be used for this graduation requirement. |
| 4. | AREA B - Physical Universe and
Its Life Forms (CSUS graduation requirement) CSUS requires 12 units in Area B for graduation. It is recommended that students complete an additional course for a total of 12 units. |

| California State University Transfer Recommendations | |||||||
| 1. | If you were eligible to enroll in the California State University system after graduation from high school, you can transfer prior to the completion of 60 transferable units; however, you must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. High school eligibility is based on SAT scores, grade point averages, and completion of specific subjects. Please see a SCC counselor and refer to the California State University catalog. | ||||||
| 2. |
Students not eligible to enroll in the California State University system directly after high school graduation may earn eligibility by completing the following requirements:
|
||||||
| 3. | The completion of 49-51 lower division units is required to meet the General Education requirements for the California State University system. Sacramento City College can certify only 40 lower division General Education units. The additional 9-11 units of general education is upper division courses and must be taken at the university of transfer. | ||||||
| 4. | Freshman and sophomore lower division preparation course work for specific majors (Articulation Agreements) are available in the Counseling Division and Transfer Center. | ||||||
| 5. | The minimum grade point average required to transfer to the California State University system is 2.0; however, the actual grade point average required will vary according to individual CSU campuses and the major field of study. | ||||||
| 6. | If you are majoring in an "impacted field of study", it is essential that you complete the required lower division major preparation course work prior to transfer. Please consult with an SCC counselor for further information. | ||||||
| 7. | We strongly recommend that you begin and complete your English and Math classes early in your education at SCC. The skills that you build in these courses will help you in all other course work taken. These courses must be taken in a specific order; therefore, if you delay completing them, you may delay your transfer to the CSU system. | ||||||
| 8. | The CSU, Sacramento Advisor is available in the SCC Transfer Center to assist you with transfer planning. You may also want to consider applying for a Guaranteed Transfer Admission Agreement and/or the Crossover Enrollment Program. | ||||||
| 9. | We highly recommend that you meet with a SCC counselor at least once per semester to review your educational plan. If you have questions or need clarification, please meet with a counselor. We believe that if you understand these recommendations and follow them carefully, you will greatly enhance your opportunity to successfully transfer and study the major of your choice. | ||||||
| 10. | If you chose to complete the CSU General Education Breadth Requirement Certification, you must make your request at the SCC Admissions & Records Office prior to transfer. | ||||||
