Applying to the program: Applications are accepted each year between March 1 and April 15, for fall enrollment. The 2009 application is available now. Please contact program coordinator Beth Chape, PT, PhD with questions about prerequisites, the program, or application procedures.

Employment opportunities: Physical Therapist Assistant is listed as one of the 10 fastest growing occupations for 2002-2012 by the US Dept. of Labor, and was recently listed in the top 10 by Money Magazine.

Licensure pass rate: The ultimate pass rate of SCC program graduates on the National Exam for Physical Therapist Assistants  was 97.44% for the years 2004-2006. [Pass rates for all programs can be accessed at www.fsbpt.org - follow the links to 'candidates', then 'NPTE', then 'pass rates'.]

Information Meetings: Informational meetings are held several times each semester and provide prospective students with information on program prerequisites, the enrollment process, the schedule of required academic and clinical coursework, the licensing process, and employment outlook for PTAs. A brief video on physical therapy as a career is presented. Opportunity is available for questions. Meetings are held in Mohr Hall, Room 27, on the Sacramento City College campus. No appointment is necessary.
