The CARE program is a supplemental
program of EOPS that provides additional support services and if
eligible, a CARE grant to assist students with childcare,
transportation, books and supplies. Support services including
advising, workshops and networking activities specifically designed
for single parents.
The CARE program provides additional
support to students who:
- Will be enrolled full time.
(12 units)
- Are at least 18 years old,
single head of household
- Have at least one child 13
years old or younger.
- Are currently receiving
CalWORKs/TANF benefits.
- Apply and are determined
eligible for Financial Aid and
- Will pursue an educational
job-training program, which leads to a certificate, degree
or transfer
objective.

| Each semester all CARE students must complete
one CARE Contact: Meet with the CARE Advisor.
CARE advising is usually held
at the beginning of each semester.
CARE students are also required
to attend 2 out of 3 workshops per semester.
