Radiation Challenge

If you have significant experience taking full-mouth
dental x-rays, but do not have a California Radiation Safety License,
you may be able to challenge the required course with this approved
mechanism. Study materials are sent to you in advance for the
written examination. You will be required to pass a written examination
and take FMXR's and bite-wings on dexters, plus two patient surveys
in class. Additional x-rays will be taken in your facility. No
instruction is given and if you can’t pass the challenge,
there will be no refund or credit toward our regular Radiation
Safety course. Note that this class adheres to clinical
wear requirements.

Radiation Safety Certification

Instructor: Standley/Campbell/Fleming/Blee
This course has been designed to meet the standards set forth
by the California Dental Board for the operation of dental radiographic
equipment in California. The course includes both didactic and
clinical application of x-ray safety, film exposure, processing
and evaluation. Each participant much provide their own x-ray
film and four patients. (Patients are required after participants
have successfully learned the procedures on x-ray Dexter manikin.)
XCP kits are sold at cost in the class for $100. The first patient
is needed the first Sunday.
Participants must provide 4 patients, 1 box
of Kodak Insight or E speed #2 polypack x-ray film, a complete
set of Rinn XCP film holders.

Radiography
Troubleshooting

Instructor: Dunne
This is an x-ray course for those who already know how to take
radiographs, but may be having difficulty with elongation, closed
contacts, cone cuts or other problems. Participants should bring
a box of x-ray film. This is not a beginning course.
