Information
The SCC Map Library is
located on the second floor of the LRC and contains numerous USGS topographic
maps of California for in-library
research and assignments.
This
collection was largely made possible by a donation from the California Department of
Water Resources.
The majority of the collection consists of 7.5 minute USGS 1:24,000 scale topographic
quadrangles of California. This collection
contains nearly all of the 1:24,000 map sheets for California – over 2,500
maps. In addition, there are
duplicate copies for most of these sheets, bringing the total collection to
around 5,000 maps. There are also miscellaneous maps at
other scales (1:250,000 and
1:24,000
Orthophoto Quads) in drawer #10.
The California 1:24,000 maps are catalogued in alphabetical order in drawer’s
#2 to #9.
1:24,000 maps of the Sacramento area are in drawer #1 and include the following
sheets:
Carmichael
Citrus Heights
Davis
Elk Grove
Florin
Folsom
Rio Linda
Rocklin
Roseville
Sacramento East
Sacramento West
For a complete listing of the collection please consult the SCC Map Library binder, the library card catalog, or the SCC Map Library index (www.scc.losrios.edu/~davisca/sccmaplibrary24.html).
