Swimming

"I take swimming at SCC because it makes me feel better. I get a chance to workout in a fun environment with an instructor. My first classes in swimming were here. Now I know all the different strokes. I've also built friendships and created bonds through these classes. We work out together and talk and hang out. Some people in my class have gym memberships, but we work out here because there's an instructor here to push and help us."

Fitness & Weight Control

"This class has helped me not just physically but emotionally. I was a stay-at-home Mom with two kids and it seemed like the weight just wouldn't come off. Now I realize that I just need a good coach! When I know she's watching, I work harder both with dietary management and in class. I've lost 15 pounds since the start of the semester and we're only in the ninth week."

Fitness & Weight Control

"I like taking classes here because when you're by yourself you can talk yourself out of it and go all week without working out. This is my third fitness class here because I have a partner and a coach who expect me to be here. I've taken Circuit Weight Training twice and now I'm taking this class because I want more aerobic activity. I've also learned meal proportions and stayed focused and I work out five days a week between this class and Mat Pilates. I've actually lost three dress sizes since January and my whole lifestyle has changed."

Connie Zuercher, professor
Fitness & Weight Control

"IF you want a regular routine and a personal training experience, this is the way to go. Students find accountability and comraderie here. Friendships are established and as the students go through the class together they get to see each other's progress and are motivated by it. The Fitness & Weight Control class also has a lecture component that teaches healthy eating habits. So this can transform your life if you want it to."

Kickboxing

"This is a good class, a lot of fun and good for your health. It starts out hard, but at the end I feel a great sense of accomplishment."
