SUMMER CLASSES START JUNE 11

Summer School at SCC!

Whether you're looking to satisfy graduation or certificate requirements or you just want a little recreation, you will find it at SCC this summer.

Summer School features a diverse student body, numerous class selections, a leisurely atmosphere, and a beautiful campus setting. Students often choose to attend SCC for summer school in order to try new and interesting classes, get a "jumpstart" on college life, complete GE requirements that will transfer to their college or university, concentrate on an area of study that takes singular focus, or take courses they couldn't get during the regular semester. SCC's summer program has something for everyone.

"I will be coming to Sac City to take an introductory Chicano Studies class during the summer because financial aid doesn't pay for summer classes, so the money comes out of my pocket. Not only is the class less expensive at SCC, but I also get more one-on-one with the teacher (instead of a t/a) and there's a better chance that I'll get the class because if it's full I can get on the waiting list before the class starts. I was also born and raised around a lot of diversity and that makes me really comfortable at SCC. Because of the diversity it's a lot easier for me to form study groups and meet people. Also, the campus is easier to navigate. With the garage, I can park closer to school and the faculty here will point you in the direction you need to go because the campus is smaller and they know all of the different parts."

"I'm taking a math class over the summer because I need to focus on it without any other classes to worry about-I want to graduate in the spring and this is holding me up! I also want to stay connected to the campus over the summer so that it won't be so hard to get back into school in the fall. I'll still feel like I've taken a vacation come September because the summer school atmosphere is really relaxed and I'm only taking one class. "
