Link the Library’s Resources to Your Course Web Sites

There are many ways you can incorporate the library’s resources into your course web sites and increase your students’ awareness of and access to the many resources the library provides.

These techniques can be used either in Blackboard course sites or in individualized course sites that you’ve created for your students.

• Provide a link to the library’s home page – or directly into the library catalog.
• Create a link to your class’s Reserve Materials list.
• Link directly to a full-text article provided in one of our subscription databases (InfoTrac or Proquest magazines, journals and newspapers)
• Create a “canned search” in one of the databases. The search remains the same, but the results will continually be updated as new articles are published. This is a great way to help students track current issues.
• Link to the Library Orientation page, where students can read about the different workshops we offer and see a schedule of the drop-in orientations planned for the semester.
